Author Mentorship Program

Author Mentorship Program

Writing can be a solitary craft, and for young authors still finding their voice, having a guide makes all the difference. The Walpurgis Words Author Mentorship Program pairs high school students with published indie authors from The Dark Veil Society and beyond for one-on-one mentorship sessions. These aren't classroom lectures — they're real conversations between working writers and the next generation.

What the mentorship program offers:

  • One-on-one sessions between students and published authors, conducted virtually
  • Craft-focused feedback on student writing, including short stories, contest entries, and personal projects
  • Genre guidance for students interested in horror, dark fantasy, thriller, and speculative fiction
  • Insight into the publishing world, from drafting and revision to querying and self-publishing
  • Encouragement and accountability to help young writers build a consistent creative practice

Your support funds the coordination, outreach, and resources needed to keep this program running. Behind every great author is someone who believed in them early — help us be that someone.
